Police in Ivory Coast have arrested opposition leader Pascal Affi N'Guessan and charged him with crimes including terrorism after he contested the landslide reelection of President Alassane Ouattara.

More than 3,200 Ivorians have fled the ongoing post-election violence in their country to Liberia, Ghana and Togo, the U.N. refugee agency says.

Ivory Coast's ruling party Rally of Houphouetists for Democracy and Peace (RHDP) warned the political opposition, which boycotted the presidential election of October 31, against any "attempt to destabilise" the country. At least five people died over the weekend in election-related violence.

Ivorians are still waiting for provisional results even though the Independent Electoral Commission (CENI) has already released preliminary results which show the current President Alassane Ouattara — seeking a controversial third term; leading the polls in the Northern capital with 98% favour at 88% participation.
