Mario Balotelli has joined his former AC Milan teammate Kevin-Prince Boateng at Italian Serie B side A.C Monza.

Monza have officially announced the arrival of Mario Balotelli and confirmed the former Italy international has signed a deal until June 2021.

The maverick forward had been without a club since he split with Brescia, who were relegated from Serie A last season, but has now signed a deal for the rest of the season with former Milan patron Silvio Berlusconi’s Serie B team.

“Mario Balotelli comes to reinforce Monza and has signed a contract until June 30, 2021,” the club wrote in a statement.

“[After a stint at Manchester City] Silvio Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani brought him back to Italy in January 2013, and he helped bring Milan to the Champions League by scoring 12 goals in Serie A.

“After a year and a half at the Rossoneri, with 26 goals in the League, he had a new prestigious experience in England with Liverpool. In January 2016, he returned to Milan, where he was also coached by Christian Brocchi, who now finds himself at Monza together with former Milan teammate Kevin-Prince Boateng.

“Balotelli is one of only seven footballers who from January 1, 2000, has scored at least 20 goals in three of the top five European Leagues. Welcome Mario!”

Balotelli has reunited with former AC Milan teammate Kevin-Prince Boateng, who joined the club at the start of the season.

The duo were influential for Milan as they clinched the Serie A in the 2012-13 season.
